Winter outerwear used to be heavy with coats weighing in at several pounds or kilos.  Today’s coats and jackets are so light that they seem to weigh less than air!

That’s thanks to ongoing developments into materials that mimic the properties of naturally warm materials – but in new constructions that eliminate the weight.

For consumers this means a greater freedom of movement making it easier to perform outdoor work and more enjoyable when participating in sports.

Some of this ‘keep warm’ technology is being brought through into home textiles and even medical textiles.
