/ Consumer sentiment in both the US and Europe are now showing cracks in the resilience that carry retail through 2024
Consumer sentiment is a key indicator of how retail is likely to perform. Although most financial institutions are fairly bullish on the economic performance of key global economies, consumer sentiment – as of December – does not support their view.
Currently, consumers in the US and Europe are becoming less certain of the labor market, cost of living and business growth in the coming year.
