The apparel industry has always been a bit of a laggard when it comes to technology. That’s started to change since the pandemic and this year might be when the industry really turns the corner and leans into technology.
Not necessarily because companies want to, but because they will have to in order to get the speed, flexibility and responsiveness needed to survive in an increasingly uncertain market.
Ultimately, this is expected to lead to cost savings and have a significant impact on reducing textile waste that has been a key sustainability issue for the industry.
