The long awaited meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping is largely seen by political analysts as formalizing a détente narrative – “constructive strategic stability” and new Boards of Trade and Investment – but stress that the underlying economic and technology competition remains intact and largely unresolved.
