India-Japan Textile Agreement

On September 9 India and Japan signed a trade agreement aimed at boosting India’s exports of apparel and textiles to Japan and to encourage more cooperation the textile sector.

The agreement will help identify areas for optimizing the previously signed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).  It will also help to improve the quality and testing of Indian textiles and apparel.

This is a huge opportunity for India since Japan is the world’s third largest apparel importer.
