THE SITUATION IN SEPTEMBER
What many sourcing directors had long feared – a crisis in Bangladesh – came to pass in late July and early August, when political upheaval shut down businesses for about a week.
For brands that were heavily dependent upon Bangladesh, it was ‘worst nightmare come true’.
And yet, while Bangladesh has more ‘potential points of failure’ than some of the other sourcing nations, Bangladesh has shown where it shines is in resiliency.
