THE SITUATION IN AUGUST
Protests in Bangladesh late last month resulted in a curfew and 5-day closure of businesses – jolting brands out of any summer holidays they might have been enjoying.
If buyers were suddenly panicked about a potentially crippling delay in orders, manufacturers were equally as anxious about the situation. Fears over cancellations (which thus far haven’t happened) and the need to air freight (probably, at least for some orders) meant a lot of sleepless nights for factories.
