Only 50% of US fashion brands say they are likely to expand garment orders this year, compared with 90% last year.

Brands cited weak demand and concern over the uncertain economic outlook in the U.S. as reasons for being more cautious.

THE SITUATION IN SEPTEMBER

Forecast of a tightening in consumer spending is likely to mean that Holiday 2023 will be less merry than in previous years.

This year it’s all about cost cutting, downsizing and regaining focus.
