<h3><b>A Vibrant New Season</b></h3> If brands take advantage of some of the exciting new textiles and prints on offer for Autumn/Winter 24/25 there are likely to turn out some ‘must buy’ collections. At Premiere Vision New York we saw a wealth of creativity in terms of interesting weave constructions, prints and finishes. <b>TEXTURE </b>remains important, particularly as a way to add interest to the ongoing monotone or tone-on-tone direction. This includes plaids using coarser or nubby yarns, matelasse, quilting and hairy surfaces. Yarns with a raw hand feel are also important - and give a more rustic or ethnic effect to fabrics. Bubble and crinkle effects are also important. <b>METALLICS</b> continues but in more subdued and burnished iterations. Lurex threads add a bit of metallic and sparkle to fabrics. Polyester or nylon yarns add a shimmering effect, as do tiny sequins. <b>JACQUARDS </b>play an important role in creating fabrics that are unique and sophisticated. In monotone or tone-on-tone interpretations they add subtle interest to solid colored garments, important for adding value and turning a basic into a fashion item. <b>LACE </b>is back in varieties ranging from delicate lingerie-inspired qualities to oversize patterns worked in coarser gauge yarns. The patterns are manipulated slightly giving the print a fresh new look. <b>ABSTRACT PRINTS </b>remain an important look and are coming through in slightly more sophisticated interpretations.
