The Situation in February 2023
China’s great reopening got off to a slower than expected start. Nonetheless, from suppliers to brands everyone is expecting that China will kick into high gear soon. That this happened yet is being blamed on the wave of Covid that ripped through the nation once pandemic restrictions were lifted and the Lunar New Year holiday that fell in the third week of January.
Now that we’re past the holiday and Covid seems to be leveling off, sentiment is very optimistic about the impact that a rising China economy will have on the global economy as a whole.
For suppliers there is a huge sense of relief that they can now more easily travel to their factories in China.
