Freight Rates Jul 28

Increased scheduled capacity through October suggest carriers do not expect a collapse in volumes, according to Freightos.

Asia to North America schedule reliability among the alliances remains low and varied.  Spot rates continue to fall with blank sailings on the rise, according to Flexport.

Asia to Europe supply is still relatively tight due to the large amount of blank sailings, vessel sliding, and port omissions, per Flexport.

Although the German dockworker’s strike has finished, access to the Port of Hamburg is limited due to the overcrowded infrastructure, said UPS.  The port congestion in Europe particularly for Hamburg and Rotterdam has reached critical levels, said Flexport.

China – US West Coast air cargo rates have fallen 15% in the last month, though rates are still about twice the pre-pandemic norm, per Freightos.
