The focus is starting to shift from logistics issues to inflation-related issues. Not that the logistics challenges are over, but the high rates and delays, for now, have become ‘the norm’.

Freight Rates Feb

Post-Chinese New Year air cargo rates dropped by more than 25% last week from Asia to both N. Europe and the US West Coast, per Freightos.

Well past Chinese New Year, ocean rates remain stable, but extremely high – driven by still-strong demand and port congestion.

Clogged up global supply chains have cost the UK and many EU countries a whole year of economic growth, the International Monetary Fund has warned.

ECOMMERCE

MyTheresa (Germany) is building a new warehouse at Leipzig Airport, which will significantly reduce delivery times.  The luxury goods platform said it saw little disruption to sales from Omicron.

Shein (China) will invest $2.3 billion to build a massive new global supply chain center in Guangzhou, China. It estimated that it could cover 33 km (52 miles).
