UK retailers of clothing and footwear will be allowed to reopen as of June 15. The long awaited go-ahead includes department stores and high street stores.
The catch is that they must meet government safety guidelines. So many retailers are planning a gradual reopening, allowing them some lead time to adapt to the new rules.
Guidelines include the standard practices of requiring both shoppers and employees to wear face masks, frequent sanitization of public spaces and fixtures, hand sanitizer at store entrances, and of course social distancing.
Clothing that has been returned must be “quarantined” off the selling floor for 72 hours.
