THE SITUATION IN JULY

It seems we spoke too soon.  What looked like a return to ‘normal’ for logistics in the beginning of the year, and then a short term glitch as things heated up in the Red Sea, turned out to be more like a return to pandemic-era price hikes.  Granted, at least we’re not facing the massive delays and snafus that defined that period.  Lessons were well learned and both shippers and carriers have more solutions in place to avoid serious logjams.  However, we also need to point out that volumes are nowhere near what they were back in 2021-2022.  So that’s helped.
