Holiday 2023 wasn’t as bad as some had expected, but it certainly lacked the sales momentum that most retailers count on.
Sales in most key markets were up a few points over 2022, but so was inflation.
Rather than rehash the past, smart retailers are looking to how they can drive sales in 2024.
In some respects, the downsizing and rightsizing that started last year is helping to clear a path for a more focused strategy that has less ‘baggage’.
