Crystal International Group Limited (Hong Kong) has been putting continued effort in promoting gender equality by empowering women employees with P.A.C.E. training, especially when women account for 70% of the total workforce at Crystal International. P.A.C.E., a women empowerment programme by Gap Inc., aims to empower front-line female workers in the garment industry to equip them with work and personal skills for better individual development and career enhancement. Since 2019, Crystal International has been the first approved global vendor to deliver hybrid P.A.C.E. programme with online learning.
Digital P.A.C.E. – an excellent learning journey
The denim factory in China was the first factory of the Group to launch P.A.C.E. programme in 2012. So far, 7 batches and a total of 1,800 students were graduated from this programme. The P.A.C.E. journey significantly impacts the students, trainers, and company. With the success of the programme, it was later expanded to other countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh.
In 2019, the evolving Covid-19 pandemic did not deter us from empowering the employees. The denim factory in China realised the importance of online training and thus proactively launched the pioneering digital P.A.C.E. programme by combining both online and offline learning. Around 150 students were graduated from digital P.A.C.E. and their feedbacks were positive. The online learning journey enabled the students to learn anytime, anywhere, which is more convenient and time-saving. Such P.A.C.E. training earned satisfaction and recognition from Gap Inc., and went completely online in 2020, with 150 and 500 students graduated in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
The training lessons in animated videos comprise of 5 modules, including communication, problem solving and decision making, time and stress management, health and excellence execution. With such knowledge, the employees can perform more professionally at work and lead a better personal life for self-improvement. They become more proactive, cultivate positive thinking, and form a harmonious working environment. Their work efficiency and quality have also significantly improved while some of them are promoted to line leaders.

Crystal’s digital P.A.C.E. programme enjoys notability. The denim factory in China was honoured with “The Digital Content Creator Award” at the P.A.C.E. Awards 2021 by Gap Inc. In addition, the denim factory in Cambodia won “The P.A.C.E. Photo of the Year Award”, signifying Crystal’s achievement in empowering female workers.
In the era of post-pandemic, online learning brings flexibility and convenience with the advanced technology. Following the success of Hybrid P.A.C.E. programme in China, Crystal International will further expand the hybrid programme to other operating countries including Vietnam and Cambodia, to generate positive social impact in the industry globally.
